As a person gets older ad experience things, do they become evil?

Asked by: Disa6060
  • Yes, they do become evil

It all depends on what types of things person experiences. If they have witnessed a lot of horrible things, and/or have been involved in a lot of bad things, then as they get older, they will become evil. If a person has been around a lot of bad things, then they will start to do bad things overtime.

  • Yes people become more corrupt as they age

Babies and little kids are the most innocent creatures, they don't know about anything bad, they've never had bad experiences or bad memories, they never want to hurt somebody on purpose. This changes as a person grows up terrible things are happening all around the world (war, murder, rape, robbery, etc.) they acknowledge these. They start to see people as rivals maybe someone has better grades than them, maybe someone dresses better than them, maybe someone got into a better college than them, maybe someone makes more money than them... And lastly they are hurt by their friends, girlfriends/boyfriends sometimes even families and this makes them a tougher person ; they start developing habits like lying, cheating, sneaking and even hurt people themselves. So yes life is hard and as people get older they have experiences that change them forever.

  • Wow really? What?

So the people that witnessed and experienced 9/11 are evil? I mean sure a few criminals were there but not every single person there turned evil.

  • Evil? Where is your proof?

I think age can make some people skeptics. It can make others cynical. But young people also suffer from such behaviors. Health problems, which become more prevalent with age, can influence a person's behavior too, i.e. Tired, Grumpy, Slower movement, etc. But evil? No. I don't see that connected to age. There are some rather young, sick minds walking around these days too!

Behavior, if memory serves from a college class over half my life ago, is developed by age 8. So, in my humble opinion, if a person is arrogant as a kid ... They will be an arrogant adult. If they are a bully as a kid ... They will bully in adulthood. If they are cocky, the same result. If they are loving & compassionate, it transcends to adulthood. The best way to observe this is a high school Class Reunion. But, if you have known a person since they were very young, you can make the observation when they are 18 or 20. Children are what they live. It molds them into the adults they become. Aging doesn't change things.

  • This is stupid

You can't become evil as a result of experience. We always have the power to choose. If we commit a crime, and we have the power to distinguish between right and wrong, we are prosecuted. If we don't, then we are declared insane. Insanity is the only way you can become evil, because then you won't be within your mind to distinguish good from evil, so are you really evil then? No, you're insane. People can choose, unless you're insane.

  • You cant be more wrong...!

Frankly speaking, our illogical or 'on the spur of the moment' decisions are mainly due to us being inexperienced ? They are suggesting that the more of the world we see, the more clearly we'll see the it. Then what is right or wrong and what is good or evil, the classification itself, will be purely based on our perception of the world till now. It would be purely subjective.
