Assault weapons ban in the United States: Does an assault weapons ban reduce crime and save lives?

  • No responses have been submitted.
  • Definitely not, absolutely not.

You aren't allowed to have an AR-15, AK-47 or any other modern weapon like those in Mexico. That does not stop the cartels and gang members (criminals) from having them illegally. Disarming or restricting law abiding citizens only hinders their abilities to defend themselves and enjoy their freedoms as prescribed by the bill of rights. Criminals do not follow the laws.

  • No it doesnt!!

Should citizens in the United States be banned from possessing assault weapons?
Math and science proven Facts. You can't argue. Ok people. This is really starting to piss me off. So. This is what's going to happen. The gun violent people will go and steal guns with the guns they already have gotten over the years. Or they will hack through the code, or they will just make them thierselves. They can even order them illegally. (which, I do imagine, would be very easy) It doesnt matter if we restrict them. They will still get them, whatever they do. Because people can be evil. And then those evil, crazy people are going to go to banks, and schools, and stores, and parks, and zoos, and basically everywhere... And they are going to start gunning people down. That's what makes these sick people crazy. The sound of people screaming and dying. So there they go, walking around murdering a bunch of people. And these people that are seeing their families being killed won't be able to do anything. Because they don't have a gun. If they had a gun, than they would be able to kill the murderer, and stop him from killing more people.... They can't. Because the government was stupid and decided to restrict access to guns. So, then, hundreds of people are dead. Lying on the ground. The murderer has gone and is planning to go to another place and kill more people. Now that is option A. That one is in a world where guns are restricted. This is in option B. Where Guns are not restricted. The murderers will b e able to get a gun a lot easier. They will go to a store and buy them. They go to the place where they would like to annihilate a bunch of innocent lives. And they do. They gun a few people down. After a few people are dead, one person who is good and has a gun with KILL THE MURDERER. And then the murderer is dead. After a few times of this happening, the murderers will get the message that they will die if theytry this. So they will stop and the few isolated incidents that do happen will be so rare you don't have to worry too much about it, + they wouldn't be able to kill very many people. Those are the two options. Which one is better? Option B. And if we make sure only good people are getting guns, if they have no history of anything bad, then the US will be a lot safer. I am a 12 year old people, guys. And I understand this. Please, grow up. The world is not beautiful. This is what is happening.

  • An AR15 is just an M14 with rails on it.

Everybody says "ban assault weapons and hi capacity mags" (they call them hi capacity "clips" cuz they don't know what they're talking about). The only difference between an "assault weapon" and some old wooden semi-auto rifle is the way u hold it. An ar has a pistol grip on it. Changing the way u hold a gun won't save lives. Law abiding citizens with guns save lives

  • Gun Laws Don't Stop Criminals

First of all, the definition of an "assault rifle" varies from statute to statute, and is based largely on cosmetic characteristics of a gun which have nothing to do with its functionality. Moreover, in each of the last several mass shootings using so-called assault rifles, the perpetrator already broke gun laws in place.

  • No, Weapons are Important for Self-Defense

No, an assault weapons ban does not reduce crime, because a law only prevents the law-abiding from doing a certain thing. If a person who does not care to follow the law knows that law-abiding people will not have assault weapons, there will be more instances of terrorism and mass-shootings. Weapons, even assault weapons, are an important and necessary manner of self-defense.
