Hillary is mainly about lack of change but Trump will cause some truly horrific things to happen. I am genuinely concerned that the only way I would be able to have a conversation like this in the US 10 years time if the likes of Trump come to rule the US is in secrete, and we would have to be talking about revolution not elections. The man reminds me of Caesar in many ways. He would use his power to bend election rules, free press laws and existing acts like the patriot act plus new ones he's bound to make in order to ensure he would get re-elected and he would ensure his chosen successor would get in the same as him (That's assuming he doesn't break re-election laws to stand for a 3rd time). Caesar broke the republics constitution and disobeyed the senate in order to seize power for a similar length of time before he was ready to take over.
While Clinton's history and record does not align totally with that of a true democratic liberal and she's more inclined to compromise, she is still a democratic. A right-leaning moderate will be a better choice than the tea party radicals that compromise the Republican ticket. So, although perhaps not the preferred candidate, Clinton will represent the best choice remaining. It will be sad if the first female president got there as the lesser of two evils.
Yes, Hillary Clinton can sway Bernie supporters if she receives the Democratic nomination because it's likely that her opponent in the general election will be Donald Trump. Donald Trump won the most states among the other Republican candidates on Super Tuesday, but Clinton is the lesser evil between the two candidates because Trump's rhetoric promotes divisiveness among the American people.
No, Clinton cannot sway Bernie supporters if she gets the nomination. Bernie supporters are very adamant about supporting Bernie and Bernie only. Bernie and Hillary disagree on many fundamental issues. Bernie supporters also distrust Hillary to a great degree. If Hillary wins, I think many Bernie supporters will vote independent or abstain from voting altogether.
Bernie Sanders isn't trying to do anything but try and redistribute the wealth. Hillary Clinton wants to keep the status quo and keep going the way we are, just tweeking what is already in place. There is no place to go this way. The country has been needing a change of heart, and Hillary is just too old school to keep up with the times.
