Bolstering the Peace Corps: Should the US increase the number of people serving in the Peace Corps?

  • No responses have been submitted.
  • No they are big enough

Some might argue that the peace corps does not need any more people and should focus on the way things ought to be in other more direct agencies that will help the people in a more affective way. They should not waste more resources on them for now at least.

  • No, the Peace Corps needs to be strengthened and made safer before it recruits more people.

Although the Peace Corps is a noble idea, recent reports reflect how violent the internship is, especially in regards to women. Many rape survivors have come forward reporting their hardships, which should make us question the Peace Corps and its safety for American citizens. Once the Peace Corps addresses these issues and creates a safer experience, then it would be prudent to increase its members.
