  • Hackers can be stopped.

Anybody can be stopped, even hackers. You have to change your password, many times. You combinations that are not easy to crack, and don't give the hacker the time or ammunition to figure it out. Most hackers are genius', but they can be stopped. I think the Federal Agents should be more diligent.

  • Registered Sub net users

The internet, should be subdivided, into four key areas, Trade and banking, military and research and finally home and business users. With users of the trade and banking, being the most at risk from hackers, only registered coded computers would be able to access its hardline's. The servers and switches could determine if that data did not come from a registered source and destroy it as appropriate. Lock out times, for business t business communication would help cut down on computer misuse. To say the truth you can never entirely remove all hackers, but denying hard access to a secure registered sub net would make it almost impossible for someone to hack it, unless registered.

  • Not so much stop, but you can stay ahead.

Hackers act like criminals. Nothing will stop a criminal, so we place laws to try to prevent him from acting. The same with Hackers. Computers and technology is always progressing and updating, so there is a very real possibility that we can stay ahead of the hackers when it comes to internet security.

  • Find them and kill them

Of course you can stop them. All you need to do is become chuck Norris, find where they are at this very moment and kill them. :) . I know hackers personally, and most of them are in their late teens. So they will have no chance against you when you evolve into chuck Norris

  • For a time

We can stop the temporarily we can make a new program to protect our stuff, and they will counteract it with a new program to hack through it and the process will repeat it's an ongoing fight of sorts, it won't stop, but both sides will get better at it and who knows maybe we will get rid of the hackers or maybe the other way around! This is going to be something we have to deal with for as long as the human race is alive from this point or at least while computers are still around, you never know what might happen

  • No they can't.

No one can be stopped. No matter what, people will find a way to get into something. And when they do, word will get around, they will find a solution, and they will find another way to get back in. There is no way to completely get rid of hackers with our technology right now.

  • No way to

There is no way to stop hackers. They can do anything. Anonymous hacked fox tv news and went live! If hackers wanted to, they could even shut the Internet down. It seems like there is no way to stop hackers at all.

  • I honestly don't think they can.

Yes you can have these things that will notify you with something has been done to your bank account, your Amazon account, ebay account, etc.... But that ain't good enough. It could be too late by the time you get the text. The hackers could already be hacked into you computer doing many many things on there that you don't want to be done. I don't think anything will ever be done to stop them. All we can do is hope and pray that we are not the next victim.

  • They are hard to stop.

No, I don't believe hackers can be very easily stopped, if at all. Hackers are extremely intelligent and seem to be able to always find a way around whatever brick wall is in front of them. Hackers are extremely strategic and are always developing new ways to get around the system.

  • Cyber Arms Race.................

The issue is simple, hacking is no longer limited to individuals working on their own or to loosely linked social movements working together. Hacking is now sponsored by both Nation States and by very wealthy organized crime organizations. By way of example, the Chinese invest hundreds of millions annually and have thousands of hackers working 24 hours per day. With this level of investment and focus even the US government has difficulty protecting its information (White House email, FBI, OMB- all hacked). Its like any arms race, anything we build they will find a way to defeat. And its not just China. Russia, Pakistan, India, Israel, UK and so on - all investing heavily in cyber capabilities. My advice, if its important don't put it on line, if its vital do not under any circumstance digitize it.

  • There are just too many

For every system put into place to stop hackers there is a hacker trying to crack it. There have been teams of hackers (el8) which formed just to hack the white hats. The best way to protect your self is to protect yourself, it is understandable that not everyone can be so smart as to stop everything, but there are a few simple things that can at least deter them for a while.

  • Hackers CAN NOT be stopped.

I, personally, am a hacker. I work for the U.S. CIA. If you think catching them is so easy why dont you come do my job? I saw another comment in here saying, "Hackers alone can be caught, but in groups they're unstoppable." This isn't necassarily true. You can trip them up if you find their weaknesses. Trust me, I know.

  • Technology is Everywhere.

You wake up to the Alarm Clock, use lights to light the room, use a car to drive to work, use a computer to work, use a phone to communicate, use a TV for entertainment. This generation is based around technology. Unless every person in this world somehow decides to completely stop using computers, there literally is no way to stop hackers. They will find a hole in the system, period.

  • Individually, yes, but as a group, no.

Nothing is foolproof. Any system can break. Individual hackers might be arrested, die, etc., but hacking will continue. No matter how smart you are, eventually somebody smarter will come along. The point of hackers is that they figure out a way around your security. Unless the smartest person in the world in terms of computers made it, it won't be hackerproof. And even then, it will only be hackerproof until someone smarter comes along.
