  • Well sort of.

As much as any slaughter can be humane, yes, I suppose it's possible for slaughterhouses to be humane, say, if animals are killed painlessly and carefully, such as in the case of some kosher slaughterhouses. Unfortunately, Americans devour so much meat that killing humanely probably can't keep up with demand, which seems immoral.

  • Yes of corse

Because we wouldn't want to die by a man who just goes 3,2,1 chop, we want to die in piece and for a reason not for a family dinner, it's not OK and should be band, and this is coming from someone wheats meat. If slaughter houses had glass walls we would stop this in humane act

  • They should all be humane!

Indeed what other choice do we have to feed our people. People are going to eat meat and that is a fact of life. It behooves us as humans to treat killing as humanely as possible. Nature itself is indeed hard to swallow at times. We need to be the best we can!

  • Animals can be treated better

I understand that most of us eat meat, yet is it really necessary to punch, kick, beat wit hard objects non stop so they can move? No it's not, there is always a better way to kill them. If we were in there place and having to worry about getting our balls cut off, our butts burned, our tails cut off without any antibiotics, our beaks cut off and not being able to move I highly doubt u would want to experience that, those workers can be trained to know where to cut to make sure they die instantly instead off painfully. So next time think twice about being so ignorant about how they are being treated

  • if the animals are treated ethically.

Guys. Quit living in a dream land where animals aren't food. After all, plants are living organisms as well, don't get sympathetic because it has a face. That being said, if a "slaughterhouse" keeps the animals in good environments and treats them ethically then yes, it is possible for a slaughterhouse to be humane.

  • Yes, humane treatment can be done despite the outcome

Even though the outcome of the animals is final, that does not mean that they have to suffer to be treated cruelly. They should be treated with respect and not have to live a life of misery, even if they are going to be slaughtered at some point. We have a moral responsibility to appreciate the sacrifice and not downplay the death of another living thing.

  • That doesn't make sense.

They can not be humane. Slaughterhouses are by definition inhumane. No matter how supposedly "quick and painless" they are, killing an animal is never, and will never be humane. You can't take away an animals life and then say that it was humane. If you wanted it to be humane, you should have never killed the animal in the first place.

  • No, that's a contradiction.

While killing an animal can be done in a humane way, slaughterhouses are not humane, simply by virtue of what they are-they deprive life from animals to (over)feed the public appetite, which far exceeds the need for human consumption survival. The public demand is too great to have slaughterhouses be operated humanely, and even if they were, they are still taking lives.

  • What is the Point?

When you torture animals for food, of course it ccould not be any more humane! What should we do? Pray for them before we slice their skin and head off and chop off their bodies?! Of course not! It wouldn't make sense to make it humane because there is no possible way.

  • Put Yourself in their position

What if it were you then would it still be ok. The people working in these facilities are often ill trained and the animals are put through horrible pain. Would you have liked to live your life knowing that someday you would tortured and murdered for doing absolutely nothing at all.

  • Contradiction in terms

There's some alien on debate.Mars asking if human slaughterhouses would be inhumane... Anyone saying humans need to eat meat must have skipped biology and in anycase, slaughterhouses are needed for fast food joints and supermarket freezers because of human over consumption and greed, not survival. Everything we do/don't do is a choice.
