Syria can survive as a nation, but it needs different leadership and international help after the civil war concludes. No one knows how much longer rebels need to keep attacking until Bashar al-Assad's regime finally crumbles. When the power vacuum ensues, hopefully the country's new leaders will request international help to form a new government and to help restore law and order to the war-torn nation.
Syria has survived as a nation in one form or another for thousands of years. In fact, it has one of the richest histories in the world and has overcome many instances of unrest similar to its issues of today. Given its penchant for survival, it's not only possible but likely that Syria will survive.
