Capturing carbon particles from coal plants and cars is an effective way to curb carbon emissions into the atmosphere. The particles can then be stored or even recycled into other industrial products such as coal ash. Curbing carbon emissions is an entirely new industry that should be embraced by carbon emitters so they can make even more money.
Carbon capture, at this point, is far too little, too late. The effects of climate change are already affecting our planet. The ice caps are melting at a quick rate, and without a complete change in the international economy, the effects will continue to accelerate. It may not be without some merit, but overall, a much more fundamental change in the way we live will have to occur to be truly effective.
