Charges dropped against Paul Simon: Is domestic violence a big problem in the United States?

  • Yes, domestic violence is a big problem in the U.S.

The justice system is unjust in it's handling of domestic violence. Most cases fall through without any sort of action taken. Domestic violence is a huge risk to the development of children as well. It must be taken seriously as many lives are in danger if we do not prosecute adults who commit domestic violence.

  • Not Just America

Domestic violence is a problem that plagues both men and women the world over. The USA does have a problem, but it's nothing unique, and more must be done to help those who suffer and have suffered domestic abuse, and find ways of preventing it from happening in the first place.

  • Domestic Violence Is A Problem

Domestic violence within the United States is a problem but not to the extent that is in some other nations. The United States has a huge problem surrounding it's law enforcement and courts that is far bigger and it engulfs a far bigger problem than just domestic violence. Crime is rampant in this country, but far more often then not, it's worse with white collar crimes where no charges or wrong doing is ever pointed out.

  • Yes, I believe it is.

All too often we hear about women that try to get away from their abusive partners only to be pulled back in or not granted the restraining orders that they need. Some of these cases unfortunately lead to shootings and kidnappings. I think we need more protection for spouses from the courts and police officers.
