If anything, charter schools face more scrutiny than normal schools because there is a lot of time and money invested in them. Charter schools are usually sound investments with solid backing from leaders in that the openness of school districts should allow parents to make the right choice when they decide to send their children to a charter school.
They may be a bit restrictive, but the missions of charter schools are sound because they are allowed to have a mission and a plan to attain their goals. This seems to be necessary in some places because the public schools there are just not working up to par. So parents feel the need to give their students another opportunity.
