Civilian-led military was based on the draft, civilian being no different than a soldier. But without the draft, should elected officials be required to serve in the military before they run for office?

  • Without the draft the quality of the soldier has increased, but the quality of the leader has decreased

How can a civilian with no military or historical education be qualified to lead soldiers? Historically this has always caused disasters, for no matter how many advisors you have if you have no idea what they actually are saying then it could very well be a different language.

Civilian led military was based on you serving your country if the need arises, but a draft has low quality soldiers. However in other to county the decrease quality of civilian leaders. Elected representatives should be required to serve in the military before serving in Congress.

That is not to say they have to serve 10-15-20 years, just 4.

While the lack of draft has increased the quality of our soldiers, it has decreased the quality of elected officials. You have more to fear from an army of lambs led by a lion than an army of lions led by a lamb.
