Developed world climate change debt to developing world: Is the concept of climate debt fair?

  • Yes, the concept of climate debt is fair.

In my opinion the concept of climate debt is fair because it takes into account the carbon credits that the developing world has control over and if administered as planned will help developing nations to advance faster into emerging world markets and benefit from the framework designed through trial and error of first world nations.

  • Yes, the concept of climate debt is fair.

Because developed nations have contributed significantly to the level of emissions worldwide and profited in the process, they have the means to conduct research towards reducing emissions, unlike the developing world. Since the developing world has a larger population than the developed world, they should have a bigger say when it comes to climate debt.
