  • Devolution in Scotland and Wales was Long Overdue

Scotland and Wales were long overdue for independence, and devolution was the best democratic solution. For centuries Scotland and Wales had been controlled by England, but society has moved away from and now frowns on imperialism. In order to move into a more modern system of government, more power had to be given back to the citizens of Scotland and Wales to control their own political system.

  • Devolution allows local governemts to be more responsive

Devolution in Scotland and Wales allows the governments to be more responsive to the wishes of the people of Scotland and Wales. There is controversy that devolution was allowed for Scotland and Wales but not in England for matters affecting England alone. It is nice that Scotland and Wales can
    make their own decisions.
