Did Pope Francis change the political conversation in the U.S.?

  • He has somewhat

Pope Francis has created a lot of noise in the United States by showing humility and an understanding of the climate this world is currently in far better than those before him. He's changed the discussion to an extent by his willingness to accept groups that the church previously has shunned.

  • Pope Francis did change the political conversation in the U.S.

Pope Francis did change the political conversation in the U.S. He started a dialogue between the religious community and the non-religious community about issues like atheism, gay marriage, and other things often avoided by people of those backgrounds. He has revamped the Catholic Church into a place that is more accepting of others.

  • Pope Francis did change the political conversation in the U.S.

Pope Francis did change the political conversation in the U.S. His remarks were highly considered after he spoke. I think the political conversation did change and definitely had some changes to be made to the church. In his view, church leaders have been so obsessed with enforcing
doctrine and fighting secular authorities over issues such as birth control and same-sex marriage that the basic Christian ministry was being lost.

  • Not that much

Pope Francis is an important religious leader, but he is just that: a religious figure. While there is a sizable population of Catholics in the US, they are far less likely to be influenced by religious leaders than secular ones, and far less so than evangelicals in the US here.

  • No, Pope Francis did not change the political conversation in the U.S.

No, I do not think that No, Pope Francis changed the political conversation in the U.S. No, matter what he says their will be a large segment of the population that has negative views toward gay people and gay marriage will always be a huge talking point during election time.
