Did the slave trade still thrive, much like alcohol did during Prohibition, even after its prohibition in 1808?

    Looking at current structures, the slave trade itself doesn't thrive it can be argued the profiteering off of black bodies does continue to through incarceration, unfair social conditions etc. as long term consequences of the racial division established through the dehumanisation of Black bodies during the slave trade and the inhumane attacks on Blacks after it.
