Did the term "royal colony" mean that the monarch still had relatively autocratic power?

  • This is why I always say George II was an absolute monarch

    Under his reign there were actually quite a few states which were made royal colonies -- Georgia being one of them. I definitely think he was powerful alright. Georgia was also one of the most racist colonies in the Americas as well. They had one of the most enforced anti-miscegenation laws.
