Did the Toronto Maple Leafs get the better end of the Phil Kessel deal?

Asked by: Bruinshockeyfan
  • So far, yes

Even though the bruins did get dougie Hamilton and tyler seguin out of it they havent been much help yet. Seguin scored a few in the begining of the shortened 2013 season but was no help in the playoffs. Dougie Hamilton is young and has shown lots of potential but hasnt done quite enough. Phil kessel is one of the best american players and has proven well with the leafs. The bruins did trade seguin to the stars for Louie erikson so who know what he will bring this season.

  • No, not at all.

  • Nope, not with swapping Seguin with Eriksson

Dougie Hamilton, Loui Erikkson, and the other prospects from that recent Seguin/Stars trade will be more valuable than Kessel. Leafs might get to the Stanley Cup Finals in the next few years, but I doubt they'll win it if they even get there. I think the Bruins won't need 7 games and a miracle to beat them if they face this next year

  • The Bruins got a cup out of it

Seguin helped them to the Stanley Cup the very first year he was with them. Setting aside his playoff slump, he's been a top goal scorer for them. Now that they got Eriksson and a handful of other promising prospects like Fraser, the Bruins still got the better end of the deal.
