Do good debate skills indicate good judgement skills?

    Debating definitely helps one to develop his/her ideas on a specified topic, on a specified stance. Given a debate topic, the mind involuntarily takes a stand, generally ignoring the facts surrounding it. We tend to form an immediate opinion about a subject, the moment we chance upon it.
    While a good debater might be able to put forth his/her views in an effective and convincing manner, it might not be always the right stand on the issue.
    An informed decision must be arrived at, after acknowledging both sides of the argument.
