Do history and mythology play a vital role in the development of nature?

  • Yes, history and mythology provide us with context.

History and mythology are rich parts of our culture and provide us with a context with which to understand events in nature, politics and religion. They are also the means by which we can use to describe these concepts and explain them to younger generations. Care must be used, however, when mythology is presented as literal truth, such as with modern religions.

  • Nature doesn't need us

Nature will develop and evolve how it wants to without regard to our species' history. It may play a role in how humans adapt nature to suit their needs, but it has nothing to do with how nature will develop in its on. Mythology in particular has no bearing on natural development.
