In real life like a workplace or something you are allowed to use resources your boss isn't going to ask you to do something but only by memory and if you do bad you are fired that would be completely ridiculous and an unrealistic standard they shouldnt grade on memory but on application of the concept

  • Yes, open book examination is good.

Open book examination is better than closed book examination because it reduces the chances of cheating. Individuals are not tense and they can understand and absorb all that has been taught. They can learn more this way, by checking what they have missed, on the spot. Also, it ensures that the individual has read the text and understood it thoroughly in order to be able to hunt for the answer in the right place. It helps them to become more open minded and accept the fast changing world even when they become older and reach an age when they do not want to change. It makes the best use of technology and facilities that were created mainly for the purpose. In order to survive in this fast changing modern world, one must be able to access new technology that may come up fifty years later. If methods of examination do not change with the rapidly moving technology, then it defeats the purpose of the technology. There will be no difference between what was being done fifty years ago, and what is being done now. Also, the capacity of rote learning required for closed book examination is massive and that capacity of an individual does not define him. If an individual is unable to apply what he has learnt, then what is the use of 'passing all examinations with flying colours'? Nowadays what is being taken into consideration is how practical you are, how you deal with other people, and if you do not know the practicality of life, then there is no use of 'passing your board examination with flying colours'.

  • Yes..............Open book examination is better than closed book examination

Students are not required to engage in parroting of concepts, if they understand the concept they would answer correctly. This will remove tension of examination which has become integral part of normal education system. Those students who are intelligent but don’t like to put in extra hard work in memorizing the concepts, facts and other data would enjoy this system. It is highly likely that more and more students would continue their education as the passing percentage would go up.
