  • Do TV and films influence children more than parents?

It is generally agreed that parents are those who just wish the betterment of their children. Therefore, I am of the opinion that parents always have a profound influence on the development of children’s personalities and emotions, though in the technological era where modern media has arisen everywhere, the children get more addicted and influenced by TV and movies.

Parents’ behaviors have a deep impact on their children’s personalities. The mind of young children is similar to the blank pages so they have tendency to imitate the speech and behavior of people easily, especially their parents. It means that they just follow in their parent’s footsteps. For instance, if their parents often get angry with each other, children in this house have a higher risk of becoming stubborn than others.

In addition, children seem to be emotionally and morally attached to their parents. This is due to the fact that parents are those who teach their children about the reality of the world, what is wrong or what is right. The catch phrase is "unsupervised”. TV and films are naturally more attractive to kids and unfortunately many busy parents are not able to keep an eye on what their child is watching. Now a days even some innocent kids show like Tom and Jerry has a ton of violence. Even the so called kids program Horrid Henry has a lot of negative messages and violence.
The parents should know what their kids are watching and discuss actively with them on what to watch and what not to watch. They should try and make sure that their kid knows the difference between reel life and real life.

  • Yes they do

Children love watching tv and movies . They get addicted to it and keep watching it for many hours. In this way they start loving tv more then their parents. If they watch edducational programs it is still exceptable but if they watch only cartoons and cartoons its not exceptable.

  • Negative or positive?

The question is that which effect are we talking about. If it is positive, then parents, and if both, then TV. However TV is not controlled and can show other content too which may not be appropriate but parents know what to talk and when to stop, but the TV doesn't know when to stop or what to stop showing to the children. Movies contain aggressive scenes which the parents won't teach. So, in my opinion,I would say that we have to be particular about the effect we are talking about. +ve effect is by parents and -ve and +ve effects, both are by TV. TV shows should know their limits and the shows the children watch should be checked by the parents again. So, at the end, my conclusion is that parents are the best guides as they are checking what TV shows a child watches and also look that they are not violent and teach the children good things which they really would!

  • That is a no brainer

The child is obviously influenced more by their parents because parents raise them. T.V. is just an outside influence. Though outside influences effect children everyday they live with their parents. Their parents teach them everything about life. On a side note. Even if it is T.V. it`s not that hard to turn it off.

  • TV and films do not influence children more than parents.

Although television and films have a strong influence on children, they are not as important as their own parents. Parents raise and teach their children from the moment they are born. If parents teach them correctly and if they do mistake then parents should make them understand that they had done wrong should not repeat it again they will not and parents should not keep many restrictions on their children

  • Yes without question

Tv and films are definitely more influential to children. This is because as adults we have seen a lot more and know better than to be swept up in certain things we see. We know it is a show and for entertainment. Kids on the other hand see something and don't realize it is just a show, they take it for what they see.

  • Both yes and no. Everything depends on quantity.

Parents are responsible for up-bringing of their children, therefore, they are supposed to spend a free time with them. They can simply curb their offspring to watch TV. On the other hand, more and more parents do not have enough free time for they children. They have to work until dusk and so they do not have either enough time or enough power. Then TV and films could influence children more than parents. Kids, especially the youngest ones are not able to distinquish show from reality which appears to be enormous problem and because they spend more time in front of the screens, they are more influenced by TV.

  • TV and films do not influence children more than parents.

Although television and films have a strong influence on children, they are not as important as their own parents. Parents raise and teach their children from the moment they are born. Children end up speaking the same language their parents speak at home. Kids may admire movies, but their influence is only superficial.

  • TV and films do not influence children more than parents.

Although TV and films can influence children, they cannot influence them more than their own parents. Children may not get along with their family all the time, but they are nevertheless influenced by them a great deal. It is natural that real people have a grater influence than short media broadcasts.
