    In the current world, we do need college, however, in a perfect world college would not be necessary. If high schools and secondary schools were effective and not just a waste of time and money and teachers were paid adequately, I think that we might not need colleges because a high school education would actually teach you something, however college is necessary currently because no important skills are learned in high school.

That's why college graduates still, on average, make more money than those who don't go to college. It's a great investment.
