  • Yes, It Is Still Needed

Daylight saving time was instituted during World War Two in order to help conserve fuel. More light means less electricity used in homes. While World War Two has ended a long, long time ago, the ability to conserve energy and reduce fuel consumption is still very important. So, initial reason for it has changed, but it's still needed.

  • Yes we should

It helps people in the morning so cars can see them like kids at the bus stop so they are safe. It can help you focus on work because we get more sleep so you are not as tired at school or at work. You can get your work done.

  • Yes, yes, YES

I think we still need daylight savings time because sunlight is nice and you don't need to worry about skunks. We also need daylight savings time because a lot of people like walking their dog when there is daylight. I and some other people like taking a walk when their is daylight.

  • Yes we need daylight saving time because,

We need more daylight so we don't have to waste any lights in the house. Also what we can do is work more and get more money for phone bills and other bills like house bills mostly so we can pay for food and other things we need like Ham , Meat , and all that other good foods out their in the world and one more thing is so we can get stuff for our house or get stuff that we can do

  • We need daylight savings time.

If we don't have day light savings time we will half to go to school and work at night. If we think it is night out we will think it is time to sleep. If we sleep we will fail. If we fail we will wont get a good grade so we wont get a good job.

  • People need sleep so they can do more work

People need sleep so they can pay attention in school or do more work in there job. They can do much more with more sleep. They also can learn more in school, college and work. With that they can do a lot more then they can do with out sleep

  • Yes all because

You can use the extra time to do work, build something you wanted to make, have time to pack up for school, to play, clean your room or house, help people, bake things like cake, cookies, or brownies, exercise, do homework, save time, read, draw, imagine great thing, and be kind to others.

  • Yes ,Yes, Yes

Wake up Qld, line us up with the other states, for sake of our businesses and for a little extra sleep in the morning without the sun beating in the window at 4am. Don't keep on being the odd state out, get in line, we need daylight saving more than any other state.

  • It is extra sleep

    Yes we need it to get more sleep. More sleep means more focusing on learning. We need as much sleep as we can get.... ... .. . . . . . . . . . . . . ... . . .. . . . . . . . .

  • Doesn't make sense

Daylight savings time serves no purpose and makes no sense. It was originally created so that the guy could spend more time on his bug collection. That doesn't seem like a logical reason to have to switch our clocks twice a year. I don't think that daylight savings time is needed.

  • I don't want it.

I'm already tired enough to go to school in the morning, and when i wake up every morning i look more tired than a sloth hanging from a tree, the other reason is because i always play basketball at night and it'll be less time before its dark at night.

  • DST causes more car accidents

    Lighter = Safer
Safety is a good argument for keeping the lighter evenings of DST.
Studies have found that DST contributes to improved road safety by reducing pedestrian fatalities by 13% during dawn and dusk hours.

    Costs Money
It is hard to determine the economic cost of the collective tiredness caused by DST, but studies have found that there is a decrease in productivity after the spring transition.
The City of New York invested 1.5 million US dollars in a dusk and darkness safety campaign for the DST change for the fall of 2016.
There is an extra cost in building DST support into computer systems and keeping them maintained, as well as manually changing clocks. Can Make People Sick
Changing the time, even if it is only by 1 hour, disrupts our body clocks or circadian rhythm. For most people, the resulting tiredness is simply an inconvenience. For some, however, the time change can have more serious consequences.
Studies link the lack of sleep at the start of DST to car accidents, workplace injuries, suicide, and miscarriages.
The early evening darkness after the end of the DST period is linked to depression.
The risk of suffering a heart attack is also increased when DST begins. However, the extra hour of sleep we get at the end of DST has in turn been linked to fewer heart attacks.

  • It makes it harder to get up in the morning

I think this way because it kids who go to school will have to wake up 1 hour earlier. Some people might say that saved fuel in WW2. This doesn't work because it would keep the Fighter awake and kess energized for battle. This was originally made be Ben Franklin bet now it is useless.

  • No to Daylight saving time

Who gives humans the right to keep changing time. It's 2017 and it's about time we stopped messing with time, Russia stopped in 2014 so the whole world needs to stop and be grateful with the time we have. The days are short enough as it is without taking an hour off, leave it at GMT/ UST. STOP IT NOW.

  • Please stop the insanity!

Besides, it doesn't work! We still have the same amount of daylight no matter what your clock says! Now I am back to having headlights in my rear view mirror on the way to work again! Really was nice the couple weeks I could use my sunglasses driving to work...I know it will be light enough to do that in a month, but really...Why the insanity?

  • It gets light naturally/neighbors/kids out making noise later

We are no longer in the era of WWII. It is no longer needed as it once was. Neighbors/kids out making noise later, which makes it hard for working people who need to go to bed early to get sleep. I have wanted this to stop for a long time.

  • No logic in it

It gets darker an hour earlier which everybody hates. If we didn't turn it back in the fall, we would earn one hour in the evening and lost one hour in the morning which would be better than losing one hour of light in the evening! So, for example, today the Sun goes down at 4:48 pm instead of 5:48 and rises at 7 am instead of 8. It's the same thing! We lose one hour of light either way! I don't find it logical...

  • Once served a purpose

Used to conserve fuel in war time. No longer necessary. The cows don't know it's DST. The politicians can change it at any time. In Canada it's decided by province; Saskatchewan never changes. NL once had DOUBLE DST! Disrupted business with other provinces & in people body circadian rhythms .
