Women and men definitely have equal rights. Although women complain about how they don't have equal rights, they are wrong and just want something to protest about. I can't think of a single right men have in the U.S. Which women don't. Women can join the navy, army, and even the marines. When someone comes up with a dumbass protest saying "men get paid more than women", it's because men probably have better jobs, so please stop saying women don't have equal rights.
Women definitely should have equal rights. Women are not something inferior. Women are people as well as men, only women are different than men. Rights, however, should be fair, so the same for all, no matter if someone is a woman or from another continent. This does not mean that a woman is less intelligent or less capable than men.
I have lived 21 years to this day. From my experience and all the numerous men and women I have met, women are not prejudiced against in social or work related situations any more than men are. In fact the group that receives the largest amount of help from affirmative action, has always been white women.
I think that women definitely should have equal rights. Women are not something inferior. Women are people as well as men, only women are different than men. Rights, however, should be fair, so the same for all, no matter if someone is a woman or from another continent. This does not mean that a woman is less intelligent or less capable than men.
Women and men should have equal rights because from the beginning they were equal, because women and men are human beings and their rights are the same to be respected, because "sex" does not make the difference. Each one of us should imagine his self to be a woman... And should tell us what does he will say if his rights were not respected.
When should women be treated as equals with men in the workplace.
Yes the women of the world should have and do have equal rights in the place of work, the working world in developed countries. Power is knowledge and equal education is available in the UK and most other countries in the world. We can safely say that most jobs in the working industry are equal, but historically high powered jobs are taken by men, this is just pure sexism and is completely wrong. I think that in todays day and age gender is nothing and it is only the reproductive system that is different. We can finally say that after the suffragettes acted upon the rights of women in full force this changed the way that the world looked at the worlds gender in work. And this all leads to how and why i think that men and women have equal rights in the world today.
I think men and women should be treated equally and women should not be looked down upon. We all live in one society and should have equality. We all are humans and the only difference is sex. Everyone should be treated equally. Men are not more and women are not less, they are all same.
i think women should have the same rights as men because we are all humans and we should be respected even if we have different sex.
We live in an imperfect society where women are often looked at differently than men. Due to our history, this is just a reality. However, the law sees men and women as equals, and it has been this way for at least fifty years. Affirmative action gives women equal opportunity. They can not be discriminated against.
All legal barriers have been destroyed in most countries. We see women in all levels of government, except the American presidency so far. Most western countries have already had or have women premiers. Israel had a woman prime minister in the the 60's. The only capper to this would will be when women and men exist in politics in equal numbers
Women DON'T have equal rights, women work and they don't get paid as much as the men do! MEN think that it's all cool, but take a walk in womens' shoes. Men always underestimate women, but they are equal. Give me 1 just 1 reason why women shouldn't get rights.
They don't because women work more and get paid less. Also men get more stuff because of their gender in some countries. Men in women should have the same amount of rights but they don't man have more and women have less and it's a issue for some people.
Now also women are treated differently specially in Asia. I am from India and here if a man drinks or smokes its fine but if a woman do the same society treats her like a criminal. Society tells that girls and boys are equal but its just a saying. Less girls are educated by their families in comparison to boys.
Men and women are ostensibly equal, but, in practice, that isn't always how it works. Women are still often paid less than men for doing the same jobs, for example. There are also certain jobs that are traditionally thought of as being "for men" (and some that are "for women") that have barriers to entry for the other gender. We are making progress but there is a way to go.
Feminism has pushed the delicate equilibrium men and women have shared for all of history. Women were never oppressed and never will be, men and women only fulfilled their roles and responsibilities in an environment of hostility without technological advances. Now that this balance is broken, it is clear that women are the favoured gender in this society through affirmative action and discrimination against men. Where is the equality in family court, where is the equality in conscription, where is the equality in help and fundraising for victims of domestic violence and disease?
Men are expected to put up with it and shut up because they are men.
Direct quotes from the Qu'Ran
Men are superior to women on account of the qualities with which God has gifted the one above the other, and on account of the outlay they make from their substance for them. Virtuous women are obedient, careful, during the husband's absence, because God has of them been careful. But chide those for whose refractoriness you have cause to fear; remove them into beds apart, and scourge them: but if they are obedient to you, then seek not occasion against them: verily, God is High, Great! Rodwell
Men are the protectors and maintainers of women, because Allah has given the one more (strength) than the other, and because they support them from their means. Therefore the righteous women are devoutly obedient, and guard in (the husband's) absence what Allah would have them guard. As to those women on whom part you fear disloyalty and ill conduct, admonish them (first), (next), refuse to share their beds,
------->>>>(and last) beat them (lightly); but if they return to obedience, seek not against them means (of annoyance) for Allah is Most High, Great (above you all). Ali<----
The Qu'Ran advocated beating of women and their subservience. Islam sucks sorry. You can't force me to respect all beliefs.
I'm fine with Hindus, but not you Muslims subjugating your women and blowing yourselves up.
Women have more rights when it comes to custody and ownership of items during divorces, women have the whole sexual abuse/rape "rights" as well. Everyone on here is talking about other countries like 3rd world countries or countries that have thousands of years of tradition. Which is fair enough, but that doesn't make it a good point as to why men in western society have more power at all....
Men still get to get into different jobs and clubs and other social accurances while women are still held from those things simply because some men believe they are higher and mightier than a woman. This country has come a long way but it still has a very long way to go before it reaches sexual equality
Unfortunately, around the world, women are still sex slaves and property to their male counterparts... This will sound strange, but even in western countries there's still plenty unfairness! There was a case in my state in which a girl was anally raped: so you know what the rapist's lawyer did? He posted a picture of her, scantily clad and drunk- which doesn't maker it better, but the court bought it anyways. A girl ought to be able to wear whatever she likes and not get raped, first off, same with the drink. I also feel like women are shamed for showing their cleavage: hell, men can just take their shirts straight off. Not saying I want women to be able to take their shirts off, it's that I think they should be able to dress how they like and not face such terrible discrimination. We've got a while before men and women are truly 'equal', even if, in some western nations it may seem they are- and who knows, maybe they're even above equal in your area. One thing's for sure: there's a lot to even out before any gender has equal rights.
All over the world men get more rights and pay than women. In June 2009 New Zealand women’s average hourly earnings were 87.8% of men’s earnings. This is not right and is completely discriminatory we need to change! Why should men earn more than women even if they are doing the same work in the same job!
