When we are dealing with our youngest people, we need to do whatever it takes to protect them. If the government has requested a total recall of Graco safety seats, then they need to comply with this request in order to protect the little ones or at least give the parents peace of mind and show good will.
Graco should recall the car seats that have been affected as well as the car seats the government has requested they do.When it comes to the safety of children you cannot be too careful. Graco should be proactive in recalling the car seats not only for safety reasons but also because of the financial repercussion of lawsuits should someone become injured or die due to a faulty Graco car seat.
I think that they need to recall every seat that was in the group that was studied and found to be dangerous for the children of this country to ride in. There is no middle ground, the seats need to either be extremely safe, or recalled and took off the market.
Child safety is probably one of the most important things for a parent. If the government has asked the Graco company to recall child seats because they do not meet federal safety standards, then they should recall all of the ones requested, not just the ones that they wanted to.
The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) has the legal jurisdiction to issue a mandatory recall for child safety seats it feels are a danger to public safety. Graco has issued a recalled all of the seats the CPSC says are defective, the additional seats the CPSC wants a recall meet all current safety standards and the CPSC cannot find ground is issue a mandatory recall. Since the product is safe it should not be recalled.
