I believe that Bernie Sanders' popularity with progressive voters means he will win the Democratic presidential nomination because the primary elections rely on popularity and the popular vote. Bernie Sanders has the support of many younger voters and progressive voters, which is getting to be a large part of the electorate, so he definitely has the numbers to win the Democratic presidential nomination.
The DNC has already made a choice on what candidate they're going to run in 2016. The issue of the Sanders' 'data breach' and the reaction by the DNC only proves that. They've already chosen Hillary Clinton as their candidate that's going to face the Republican candidate in the 2016 elections.
Bernie Sanders is personally my favorite 2016 candidate. He might have a lot of popularity with progressive voters but not nearly enough. Many people find him far to socialist. Some people even described him as communist. The only democrat that has a fair chance at winning is Hilary Clinton. My predictions for who will win the 2016 election is this.
1. Hilary Clinton
2. Ben Carson
3. Ted Cruz
4. Donald Trump
Though Bernie Sanders is insanely popular with millennial voters and progressives of the Democratic party, his far-left policy plans would not fare well on the other side of the aisle. For this reason, I don't think he'll win the Democratic nomination because he wouldn't be able to gain the presidency itself.
Although Bernie Sanders is popular with progressive voters, he does not have enough support overall. Hillary Clinton is just too popular, and there is no way that Bernie Sanders will catch up and beat her. Although he has more support than people thought he would, he does not have enough to beat Hillary Clinton.
Bernie Sanders has a lot of support from younger people and ultra progressive voters, but these voters don't come in as high of numbers as those that support Hillary Clinton. Clinton will get the democratic nomination because her supporters are the ones that will actually go out and vote in the caucuses to get her in.
