Do you believe that generally speaking there's a gender wage gap because women generally work low paying jobs and work less hours?

  • Women are worth less

Women are worth less in the workplace because they DO less. I wish I had a dollar for every time I had to do some heavy lifting or dirty work or handy work while some woman sat a watched. Not to mention they don't feel good 25% of the time because of their cycle. On top of all that, most women are more likely to leave work for their kids or whatever. I'm just calling it like I see it. Women on average are not as serious about or dedicated to their jobs.

The wage gap, or as it should be called, the earnings gap is just a way for feminist to play the victim yet again. They just love to complain, and, i guess im one to talk given that im complaining about them complaining. I need six more words. Done

  • Finally someone got it right

The one and ONLY real reason that there IS a wage gap is because of the different things the two genders do. Do men get pregnant and spend lots of time taking care of the baby? NO. That is the problem with the people who argue ths. They don't take in fact what the two genders do outside of work, like having a baby or taking care of kids. Therefore, while men work always for the entire day, women spend lots of hours a day at home.

  • It's mostly mental

Women face little bias in the workplace, but modern day feminism has convinced them that some oppressive patriarchy is the root issue. Most families also hold the father as the chief earner - this isn't necessarily some kind of discrimination, it's just a stable family model that's held true for generations. When women work, they tend to choose a more enjoyable/easier occupation, which is definitely a serious contribution to the wage gap.

  • Yes there is a wage gap

It has been seen countless times that women get paid less for having the same job as a man. Take a look at the US women's soccer team compared to the men, they work just as hard or harder as men do so they deserve the same salary. If you say that the wage gap is because women do not work at all under any job then you are wrong and a mysoginist.

  • Biased societal dynamics, isolationist behavior

Today's work environment is extremely dynamic and demanding. Most of the women who work in such environment often face bias from those working along with them. This bias is either due to the fact that their peers doubt their capabilities, consider them fragile and weak for leadership positions. Secondly it may also come out of concern for their safety and well being. To top it all, we have misogynist and patriarchal sections of the society who force a sense of superiority. When it comes to corporate dynamics, networking forms a major part of workspace and women tend to miss out on this aspect, often due to bias being held. In a nutshell, the gender wage gap is a concern which has roots deeply embedded in the culture of the societies, many of whom would indulge in bigotry and tend to dismiss the sheer talent of individuals. No matter how much reforms are undertaken, unless the core problem is addressed at ground levels, this cycle shall keep its undue pressure.

  • Generally girls can work high paying jobs and less hours because they have families

Girls generally have a lower pay then men because they cant do as much as men apparently but if they can do as much as men they still get treated the same and so women should be paid fairly because men can be jerks sometimes and they deserve to be able to support alone if they have no partner
