There are mountains of evidence that prove that Earth is well over 6,000 years old, the only real reason people disagree is because of their religion which is no substitute for factual information, really scientists have studied earths history so well that it is amazing religious zealots think otherwise. Period.
So why not more than 6,000 years old. We know there is quite a bit of history that has been lived and told about. Now how old the earth really is remains to be debated after all no one is old enough to tell us just how far back to earth really goes origin wise.
Those who believe the Earth is only 6,000 years old probably believe in the Bible which states that man was created six days after creation of the Earth about 6,000 years ago. However, science believes that the Earth has been around for around 4.543 Billion years, long before humans ever existed.
Carbon dating of terteriary layers from around the planet Earth indicate dates going back millions of years if not billions. The foundation of the Great Sphinx in Giza, shows ageing and water erosion going back at least 8000 to 10000 years ago, indicated by a study completed by Robert Schock.
I thought this wasn't even up for debate? I mean, children are taught this in school. It's a fact. How can anyone not believe this? Are they deliberately closing their eyes to the facts and evidence? Carbon dating alone is enough to discount this theory. No reason to be pigheaded about it.
