Do you believe the word "racist" is overused.

  • Racism is Bullcrap! It's perpetuating victim culture and it needs to stop.

    Here's what racist means:

rac·ist noun 1. A person who believes that a particular race is superior to another.
Adjective 1. Having or showing the belief that a particular race is superior to another.

Here's what racist means in today's world: Anything that offends, annoys, irritates or otherwise makes black/brown people feel even the slightest bit uncomfortable. Only white people can be racist and only black and brown people can be the victims of racism as no other race apparently matters (mainly due to them not caring a whole lot). Apparently religions are also classified as races as long as they're not any form of Christian. This includes Jews, Muslims, and a few others, despite many ethnicities following these religions.

This new definition is shit and we need to change it. Now. I'm sick of having to walk on eggshells 24/7 because these monkeys refuse to do anything but complain. Are all these people below human? God no! Many of them are just fine. However the ones who use the race card frequently are sub-human and need to be beaten with the common sense stick.

  • Because it's a political tool

I'm convinced that racist is frequently a lazy way to shut down a debate, and make one's self feel morally superior to one's opposition. Most of the time the term is used, it is completely unsubstantiated.
This diminishes the problem of actual racism, and often points fingers in the wrong direction. We need to be rational, not clamor to look more virtuous than the other person.

  • Jump to conclusion.

Person A and B disagree. Person A assaults person B. Did person A commit a racist act? Impossible to say. So far, it could go either way. Say the reason A and B disagree is over a parking spot. Well, because it had nothing to do with race, then it was not a racist act.
What if person A was white and person B was black and the new stated "A white man assaulted a black man." If you had not been told the real reason, what would you think the reason was? If your like many people, you would jump to the "racist" conclusion believing that the white man assaulted the black man because of his race. If later, the white man states it was over a parking spot, many or most of those who believed it is over race would either believe that it was a lie to cover for racism or that the white man was trying to steal the spot from the other because he was black.
For many years now, every time a black man is arrested or worse by a white officer, people jump to the conclusion that it is because of racism. What they fail to see is the statistics.
-For instance, the shooting in Ferguson.
-If we assume that all races are just as likely to be shot by an officer and that the population is 67% black and 29% white, statistically, the odds that a person being shot is black is 67% or over twice as likely as it would be a white person.
-If we assume that all police, regardless of race, are just as likely to shoot someone, but the police force is 83% white and 11% black, the odds of it being a white officer involved is 83% or about 7.5 times as as likely as a black officer.
Clearly, if a police officer shoots someone, it is very likely a white officer shooting a black person without racism involved yet when people see the higher percentages they jump to the racist conclusion instead of the statistical one and no matter what is said afterwards, they tend to stick to their original conclusion. That instead of the shooting being because of other reasons, it had to be a racist police officer.

  • Yes! Indeed it is...

If you to take this politically, liberals, leftist, and democrats keep screaming about RACISM!!! They've created this atmosphere of hatred that is covered in the word racism that any small disagreement with a different race, or disagreement with something for a race, they go out and scream that you are racist!

  • Read a dictionary.

I think that what most people consider to be "racist" is not in fact racist. The definition of racist is: " 2. (adj) having or showing the belief that a particular race is superior to another." My example for the overuse is how someone might say "look at that black dude, he's probably thinking about KFC right now". That is a stereotype, the man isn't saying "That black dude can't take his mind off KFC because his mind doesn't have the capacity to think, unlike mine" the latter statement would be, in fact, racist.

  • No, people don't overuse this word.
