Do you feel BP (British Petroleum) has done a sufficient job organizing clean-up efforts of the Gulf Coast?

  • BP has taken reasonable actions to make up for its terrible mistake, as is evident by the results.

The oil spill was BP's fault, and there is no doubt about that. But, they have been making great efforts to clean up that mistake. They have crews cleaning up the beaches, as well as skilled workers taking care of animals. They have given money to people who lost their livelihood because of the spill, and they are looking into solutions to avoid similar spills. Although we can blame them for causing the spill, we should give them credit for their clean-up efforts.

  • Yes, I think BP has done a sufficient job organizing the clean-up efforts.

Of course BP did a good job of organizing clean up efforts-- if they hadn't, they'd have gone out of business. Do I think that they did it to help the environment and right wrongs? No. They did it to look like they gave a crap about the mistake they made.

  • I do feel BP has done a sufficient job at organizing clean-up efforts of the Gulf Coast.

I think BP has done a good job thus far cleaning up the Gulf Coast. However, I do not think it justifies the amount of time it took them to fix the problem in general. They have done a good job at cleaning up the waters within the time period which they have started, but it doesn't make up for the damage they caused.

  • I agree BP took sufficient steps to clean up the oil spill by putting skimmers to work

BP has made use of skimmers to clean up the oil spill. They are also testing the new gigantic oil skimmer called "the Whale" which can clean up a large quantity of water. They are also trying hard to stop the source of the oil spill. They are trying to put a nice fitting cap over the source of the oil spill to prevent further leakage of the oil. BP is drilling relief wells so that they can close the oil well permanently. They are doing their part in helping to mitigate the effects of what has been deemed as the worst environmental disaster.

  • I agree that BP is putting in lot of efforts to clean up the mess and make the environment safe.

Whatever was the reason for the mess, the damage is done. With the latest updates from the site of BP it is clear that they are willing to make up to the mistake and provide support to the people and the environment to the best extent possible. Moreover, people across USA are ready to dedicate their time and ideas to clean up the oil at the coasts.

  • Yes, the have done everything they can.

Bp can only do so much, and like every other corporation on this planet, bp is run by humans. Yes, humans make mistakes. Does this excuse their mistake? No, but the fact that they have poured money into cleanup, victims, and the environment it is essential we give them credit compared to what many other corporations might have done. Fact is, a lot of what bp has been doing is not required by law, they could have done things to a certain extent and just left it be, instead, they are still advertising commercials for people to go down to the golf for tourism, in 2012. Bp is doing good, and thank you for fixing your mistake.

  • BP has done allot but not enough.

BP cannot fully undo the damage they have done, they make it seem like they have sufficiently "done their best" yet look at what is really happening in the Gulf of Mexico. Really at the end of the day some fat cat of a business man is still getting a crap load of money and he does not give stuff all about the environment.

  • No no and no

I don't believe BP has done a good job organizing the clean-up efforts of the Gulf Coast. They did not provide any proper safety equipment for their crew and used Corexit which gets 52 times more hazardous when mixed with oil and they believed that the people would forget, "out of sight out of mind". They sprayed Corexit over boats, people and the sea which resulted in extremely horrible effects, people got deadly sick. BP still does not want to take any responsibility and still tries to cover up the effects this accident made. Hopefully people will look at BP's history and realize that this will not be the last blast.

  • They should have had a better check and balance system

If they had a better check and balance system don't you think that they could have found this issue sooner? I mean they have billions of dollars to push around they can't install some kind of counter measures to avoid a natural disaster of this magnitude? I would think that some one would at least devote one percent of their funding to avoid the down fall of their business!

  • Google Eyeless Shrimp & Fish with lesions.

BP may have enough power to control what is reported in mainstream media, but that doesn't mean "We The People" believe them. In fact to the contrary w tend to refer to "locals" for the truth and information pertaining to the destruction caused by this disaster.

The Ocean didn't magically clean itself, and they knew corexit was not only not the solution, but it compounded an already deadly situation. Dead turtles and dolphins still wash up on the shores regularly. Tar mats remain at he beaches and oil is still in the marshes.

Do you want to discuss the current health conditions of the clean-up workers yet?

  • Loss of common sense

BP just does not understand what they have done; they have put their greed and outward appearance beyond everything else. This is what the world should be afraid of. Giant corporations causing disaster upon the lives of millions, and on the environment. This is our Earth. Our mother. Love and respect her.
