  • I believe that sharks should not be culled.

Even if Sharks are the top of the food chain does not mean that they have to die. Humans kill each other all the time and do the rest of the innocent human race get culled? No they don't. So this is why i believe that sharks should not be culled and have the right to live.

  • I support it.

I think sharks are awesome and they should be supported. There are more than 465 known species of sharks living in our oceans today. Sharks are an apex predator at or near the top of their marine food chains, and they regulate the populations of species below them. Research has shown that massive depletion of sharks has cascading effects throughout the ocean’s ecosystems.

  • More humans fin/cull sharks than sharks kill humans!

Imagine if it was the other way round. You are a shark and you're being slaughtered and finned for food! Sharks are innocent killers! They only SOMETIMES attack humans because they mistake us for their natural prey and most sharks will often release the person after they first bite them. Almost 300 million sharks are purposely killed annually each year by humans, whereas approximately 20-30 people are killed by sharks each year AND NOT ON PURPOSE!

  • It's basically genocide

What this practice entails is catching sharks and slaughtering them if they are three meters in length or more. Talk about cruelty to animals. This solution is unequivocally inhumane. And Australia never even considered alternative strategies. If you want to alleviate shark attacks, use more humane methods such as shark watchers or recommending personal shark protection such as electronic shark deterrents on surfboards.
