Do you think Donald Trump will be a good President?

  • Way too soon to tell

I will give him the benefit of the doubt and say yes, but it's too soon to tell. What he needs to do is reach out to all Americans, and make a move towards the center. I believe he will be a peacemaking president who plays arbitrator between the various special interests.

  • Oh hell yeah!

This is such an easy question. His epic tax plan will grow the economy and create jobs http://taxfoundation.org/article/details-and-analysis-donald-trump-tax-reform-plan-september-2016. His no-nonsense border wall will end illegal immigration from the southern border once and for all. And the greatest thing about this election is the fact that the Republicans now control the White House, Senate, and House of representatives. I'd like to extend a personal thank-you to the media for sucking so much. You did it to yourself!

  • He has the potential

Trump's road to victory started with the states of Wisconsin, Pennsylvania, Ohio and Michigan. Winning these states showed the people want change. These are states who's people rely on manufacturing jobs. Every year less and less manufacturing jobs are available to American citizens as they are shipped overseas, ex. Car Production. Trump is already bringing change in that category, where he started by attacking Ford, which he caught a lot of crap for, but guess what America? The Ranger and Bronco are going to be made in America again and American's now have jobs. Manufacturing is one of the biggest industries the US needs. In 2004 it employed 9.9% of our population and since the Obama Administration that percentage and kept declining. His stringent laws have sent all this overseas. Through Trump's plan of cutting corporate taxes to bring jobs back over to the States this should change. America has one of the highest corporate tax rates in the developed world, in which case companies look to leave and find a cheaper source of jobs, even if it means they have to ship all the goods back to the states.
Also on the immigration stance, people just think Trump's going to round everyone who isn't white and just send them back from where they came, which isn't true. He wants to start with illegal immigrants, people who legally aren't registered in the US, which means they don't pay taxes and take money from the government. Their kids get to go to school and if they need healthcare the Citizens pay for it. I'm all for immigration but when you start coming over here illegally and not doing your part in helping fund this country, there's a problem. Our tax dollars fund the illegals yet their money stays in their hands. If they want to come over here they need to get registered and if not they need to be sent back and can come back when they decide to register. If we tell them that they need to register in the US and we don't do anything to enforce that, illegal immigrants will never register in the US because there is no incentive to do so. Trump's plan will lead more immigrants to register. Trump has all the power to be a good president, it just depends on how he uses it.

  • 100% Yes he will

His tariffs and tax plans will bail our country out. He plans to place tariffs on all foreign made cars being imported and more. He will create jobs and stop the immigrant crisis, as well as cracking down on foolish policies and plans, such as his plan to repeal obamacare.

  • I doubt it.

He ran a dirty campaign and had a free pass to act like a jerk the whole time. Ronald Reagan and other republican candidates had more class about themselves than Trump will ever have. Oh, and there's probably several significant reasons why Trump didn't want to release his tax returns. Now that he's president-elect, he won't have to. He should be man enough to still release them but I doubt that he is, Since he already told America that he is "Brilliant" for tax evasion. He gets applauded for being, "Brilliant" and screwing America over instead of getting called, "Crooked". Trump has never been "Presidential" throughout the campaign and now he wants to start behaving Presidential. Pretty much too late for that.

  • Ineffective at best

While it is good to see that he isn't the bombastic braggart he was whilst running his campaign, anyone with a MODERATE insight into politics and economics will see that at best, he will be ineffective, and at worst, it will divide the denizens of country, and potentially destroy the already fragile economy. The tax cut purposed will not create more jobs, as there are no business incentives to keep labor in this country. Although big businesses may start to expand again, and we might see minor GDP growth as a result, corporations will expand abroad (that is capitalism 101) were labor is cheap. Renegotiating trade deals, especially with china, or imposing tariffs on incoming goods will cause prices on what are normal cheap goods to skyrocket. Alternatively, china could retaliate and place a trade embargo on the united states which would severely destabilize our economy.
The amount of discord that this election between groups of people has been hugely exposed. That is not to say that this hadn't existed before, but prejudice, racism, and people fearing for what are supposed to be inalienable rights are at an all time high. Solidarity, regardless of trump's personal beliefs, is going more to be more or less impossible.

  • Mr. President! Tear that wall down!

So, the roundup of Jews...Sorry...Immigrants will begin soon. Of course, like all tin-pot dictators his supporters will be his first victims. The first thing demagogues always do is make sure that they can not be removed by somebody like themselves. His first months will be nervous like a little boy at a new school, but by April 2017 that thing in the White House will show its true face.

  • Probably Not but

I hope so for the sake of the nation. However, given his personality, behavior, and platforms I highly doubt he is capable of being a good president. He is volatile and can not control himself, a poor presidential quality. He does not have true plans, just big and extreme statements (i.E. "I will end ISIS").

Good Luck Republicans, there is no one else to blame now...

  • No he won't be

He is not in favour for abolishing tax loop holes, peace or even investing in more green field projects. It's a sad that people believe someone like him could bring a change. He is only interested in his own agenda and doesn't care about what the frustration of American people is. Stating that Hillary wasn't too.
