Do you think Ebola quarantine should be mandatory for people who have been in close contact with infected patients?

  • On the other hand, the governors say something had to be done; that asking returning medical workers to voluntarily quarantine themselves hasn't worked.

Ebola quarantine for those who have been in close contact with infected patients should be mandatory. Asking medical workers to voluntarily quarantine themselves has not worked. Scientists have indicated anyone who has come in close contact with bodily fluids of an Ebola patient are at risk for contracting the virus. For this reason alone, a quarantine needs to be in place for health care workers exposed to this virus. This is the only means of humanly containing what could become a global disaster.

  • Humane Mandatory Quarantines

Ebola is set to spread into many more as-of-yet-unaffected countries before it is contained. We must be careful to screen travellers, but we must be more careful to acknowledge that people, such as doctors who have worked with the disease, could be infected. We must be careful, though, not to treat them like criminals. They are heroes. There should be a mandatory quarantine, but those quarantined should be treated with respect and compassion.

  • Mandatory Ebola Quarantine

Yes of course I think that Ebola quarantine should be mandatory for people who have been in close contact with infected patients. Who on earth would disagree with this are crazy. We need to stop the spread of this disease so that it does not kill everyone. This is the only way.

  • The Ebola quarantine is a necessary measure to protect the American population.

A quarantine for people who have been in close contact with infected Ebola patients should be mandatory and strictly enforced. It is only logical that people who have had contact with infected patients can put the American population at risk. We have seen this through the previous experience in Dallas where health care workers became infected with the virus despite necessary precautions being taken. We simply cannot risk an outbreak by not administering a quarantine.
