  • Hunting and protecting with guns have positive aspects.

Guns have positive influences in contemporary society, especially in the areas of protecting oneself and one's family, and also in hunting for food. Protecting your own or your family's life from danger is positive. In addition, hunting an animal for one's own food rather than relying on slaughterhouses and chemically treated meat factories is better for the environment and for personal health. It is also more ethical.

  • Shooting a gun takes more skill than has been given credit.

Shooting a gun is like riding a bike. This sentiment refers to more than just the bodies muscle memory that remembers the action. I mean this in the sense that most people have the ability. However, to be good at shooting is a different story. Riding a bicycle on a BMX track or doing tricks flatland takes practice and skill. The same is true for making truly difficult shots with a gun. Practice, skill, and control are all basic fundamentals of shooting that the majority of people do not possess. Shooting can provide these things.

  • Yes, guns have a positive effect on contemporary society.

I think that guns will always be a symbol of mankind's ingenuity. It is an advancement in humanity's need to create. Even though guns also have a lot of negative impact on society as well, I think that it can also be something that is looked as something that can inspire.

  • No, guns do not have a positive influence in society.

Living in Australia many could say my opinion is not relevant due to my lack of contact with firearms. But i have this to say something as it upsets me immensely to see shootings constantly on the news that are so easily avoided in my own country.
The other day i saw on the news a man running around suburbia with a machete, people locked their doors and hid inside. They were safe and no one was harmed. This situation with a gun however goes very differently as the bullets could easily shoot through doors and locks . The situation would be very different.
Guns can be used for hunting or target shooting with no negative affects to society but guns in civilian hands can have a very different affect and often leads to unfortunate accidents that could be avoided if the guns were regulated and given to those trusted to use them correctly.
In this ever progressing debate never forget that gun regulation and gun BANS are two very different things.

  • No, guns have no positive role in society.

No, guns do not have a positive influence on modern society. The societies with the strictest forms of gun control also, by and large, are the societies with the lowest rates of violent crime. The more guns there are out there, the greater the probability that someone is going to be shot.

  • No, Not Really

Guns were originally developed as a weapon and they have remained in that category since then. I do not believe guns have any positive influence in contemporary society. I believe we would be far better off without any guns in the world at all. However, while they're still being produced, you're safer having one than not.
