IBM will recover. This is because this is what the stock market does -- it makes stock prices and company health fluctuate. People get so caught up in today's prices, forgetting that time heals the stock market too. Companies go in and out of vogue. People simply need to wait it out.
Yes,IBM will recover from its loss on the stock market. If we look at the past,Ford in 1945, Pepsi when Don Kendall took over, Xerox in responding to Japanese competition, and perhaps Goodyear in 1993.Large companies can survive well.Recent market study says IB is making a comeback. If it gets good management it will definitely recover its loss.
IBM is one of the great success stories of history. The stock price will likely recover in the near term, but the future of IBM is not bright. Other companies have taken the technology lead, and a day will come when IBM no longer exists and becomes a footnote in the history books. It has been a great ride, but the end will come.
I do not believe IBM will recover from its loss on the stock market because the technology bubble has popped. There are too many technology companies available in the world today, and the market is becoming saturated. There are only so many consumers available to these companies, and as additional companies enter the marketplace their market shares will continue to decline causing their stock pricing to decline as well.
