Do you think modern media promotes date rape actions?

  • Yes Media Promotes Rape

Media constantly depicts women as submissive and men as dominant. This encourages male dominance and violence. Media makes men think it is okay to be aggressive and controlling toward women, thus promoting violence such as rape. Media also distorts the importance of getting laid through TV and advertising, making men go to farther lengths on dates to achieve this goal.

  • Yes, it does promote this.

In the media, such as on contemporary television programming, women are not seen as meaning no when they say it. They may start out saying no, but the story line often has them surrendering voluntarily when the man insists on moving forward. This gives both men and women the wrong idea.

  • The media is to blame for rape

With perceptions of women in today's modern media, there is an image problem that allows young men to think it is okay to do whatever they want in certain situations. Date rape has been on the rise in recent years, and because of this we as a society need to start looking for answers.

  • No, It Doesn't

I do not believe modern media promotes date rape actions. There is little in the media that promotes any kind of rape. If anything rape in on the mind of too many people and there are a lot men in our society who have falsely accused of rape. I haven't seen anything that suggests this theory.

  • No, not at all.

Date rape was around way before the media was around. This has been happening for centuries. I know there is a so called rape culture now, but the reality is that rapes around the world are at historic lows. Still, it's an issue that needs to be addressed, and it's a serious one.
