Do you think that federal law enforcement should intervene to end the occupation of the Malheur National Wildlife Refuge by armed protesters?
  • Nonviolent resolution is the ostensible goal of both parties

Yes, federal law enforcement should intervene to bring a swift end to the terrorist occupation of federal property. The armed terrorist protestors are inconveniencing locals by closing schools, keeping federal employees from work, and causing a massive influx of media. These cowards are increasingly a security concern as locals try to confront them. Federal agencies must intervene before that happens.

  • Armed protesters are not protesters, they are criminals

The entire point of being able to protest peacefully is to be heard without having to resort to violence. This event is a greedy land grab by a handful of gun-toting ranchers who have lived away from real life so long they think they will win. Those are public lands they are trying to steal, of course the Federal Law Enforcement should intervene. Criminals are trying to steal public lands.

  • Yes, law enforcement has no choice but to intervene

The occupation of federal land is illegal. These people have converged on a town and caused disruption. Schools had to be closed and everyone had to change their lives to accommodate those breaking the law. Law enforcement has been very patient with them but they continue to force their hand. At this point they have to be removed, even if by force.

  • I agree they should

It's almost comical what these people are doing. I mean these people should realize that all they're doing is making themselves look more pathetic. I would love to see the Feds or anybody put an end to this comical joke. Some people just don't know when to stop. They should be more thankful that they live in this great country and not some third-world country where people don't have rights.

  • Eventually they'll have to leave.

The militiamen are already asking for donations of food and other supplies. Nobody is joining them, and eventually they'll run out of both money and supplies. If they are self-employed ranchers, they will have to return to their ranches at some point. If the authorities came in to remove the militiamen by force, it could end in a shootout. The federal government has waaaaay more resources than the militia, all it needs to do is wait them out.
