Does a convincing lie work better than the truth?

  • Lies can be more convincing

People are far more likely to believe a good lie than the truth because a good lie can anticipate what others are willing to believe. The truth is messy and can often sound incredible or unreal, while a good lie can be tailor fit to a group of people to confirm what they may already believe.

  • Truth is always better

You can never sleep in a bed of lies, no matter what. So it's always better to tell the truth. Plus the candle will burn out one day so it's better now than when you are left in the dark. For example look what happened to Brax on Home and Away Casey ended up hating him for not telling him about his father

  • The Truth is Better

No matter the amount of comfort one may feel after telling and getting away with a convincing lie, telling the truth is always the best course of action. First of all, strong feelings of guilt are often associated with lies. Also, the truth will often eventually come to light, so it's better to tell the truth.
