  • Inaction implies consent

If an individual speaking for an organization makes an untrue statement, or a negative action on behalf of that organization, that is not sanctioned by said organization, the recipient of the message or action can reasonably assume that the action was condoned by the organization. If an individual makes a true statement or positive action on the behalf of the organization, and the organization neither refutes or dismisses the action/statement, it can be reasonably assumed that the organization is in support of the action or statement.
