Antarctica has a bright future. A future of snow, penguins, and research outposts. It's a vast continent, known for its barren white look, and for being a polar cap. That already ensures it has such a bright future ahead of it. A bright future of desolation and emptiness. Just what everyone hopes for.
Antarctica is so cold that the energy it would take to make it comfortable for people to live on would cost huge amounts of financial and environmental resources. There really isn't anything that can be done efficiently in Antarctica besides scientific research. We will likely colonize space before we have any large population centers in Antarctica year round.
