Does censorship in the classroom do students a disservice?

  • No responses have been submitted.
  • Censorship is propaganda

By censoring information and "correcting" textbooks, you are depriving children of the knowledge they need. One common example in my school is that our social studies textbook never mentions how we treated native Americans and the Chinese. I would have never known this had my teacher not shown the class videos from YouTube on the topic. It is necessary to know this as you can learn from these mistakes and better ensure they do not recur in the future.
