  • Everyone needs nuclear energy

I think that every country on Earth needs nuclear energy. Nuclera energy is a more viable source of energy than dirty energy like coal or diesel powered fuel. I think that if more countries like India decided to focus on Nuclear energy we would all be better off in the long term.

  • India ready for nuclear energy

I believe India is ready for nuclear energy. They have the infrastructure to protect their nuclear plants for any terrorism and they have the resources to handle any kind of potential emergencies that come with nuclear energy. In addition, the country is continuing to grow in population and nuclear energy will help provide for the demand.

  • Everyone needs nuclear energy.

Nuclear energy is a great alternative to fossil fuels. So yes India needs nuclear energy. They are a good country and deserve to have modern things like nuclear energy. As long as they can maintain the plants properly, they should have access to nuclear energy. I see know reason why they wouldn't need it.

  • They Could Benefit

I believe India could greatly benefit from the use of nuclear energy. However, nuclear energy plants are a lot of responsibility and can be highly dangerous if not maintained properly. I would question the countries ability to maintain these plants in a safe and sufficient matter. I think the benefits are endless, but we know what happens when these plants are not properly maintained.

  • Lots of People Need Lots of Power

With more than 1.3 billion residents, India needs nuclear energy as a clean way to produce electricity for its residents. Japan and the United States can help develop the reactors needed, plus the economic boom from construction can only help India's poor people with more employment. Nuclear energy should be one part of India's power situation as other forms of clean energy should also be considered.

  • I think so

I don't think that there is anything wrong with India as a people and as a nation having access to nuclear energy. The ability to have such a powerful resource will free up finances and other things to be focused on, instead of being spent on energy costs and production thereof.

  • Nuclear energy can solve India's energy shortage with less pollution

As one of the largest and fastest-growing nations on earth, India has a pressing need to develop more electric power generation to fuel business growth and satisfy the needs of a growing middle class. Traditional coal-burning power plants emit dangerous levels of pollution, and India lacks sufficient natural gas resources and pipelines to allow cleaner burning gas-fired power plants. This leaves nuclear energy as the only viable option. In France, nuclear energy safely provides most of the generating capacity, and India must follow that model out of necessity.

  • Renewable energies like Solar are better suited. They are becoming cheaper and feasible with newer and newer research.

It's a large risk. Nuclear energy is very expensive to create and the mining for the products needed to run it is dangerous. Fukushima incident has made every country to sit up and take note of dangers. Countries like Germany are working on total shutdown of nuclear plants. Countries who are reluctant to have new plants in their own country, want to establish plant in India to recover R&D and capital costs and to make guinea pig of Indian people while putting untested new technologies.

  • India does not need nuclear energy.

India does not need nuclear energy. There are other methods of energy that would be more beneficial and cost effect other than nuclear. Nuclear energy is very expensive to create and the mining for the products needed to run it is dangerous. It is also proven to be very bad for your health.

  • I honestly don't know if anyone "needs" nuclear energy.

It's a large risk, allowing the dangerous technology into the hands of random countries. Different countries have different rankings of allies, and India's allies and partnerships, might be with countries that want to ruin us. We need to tread very carefully about what information we release to the world. There are a lot of spies. There are a lot of terrorists.

  • They do not.

I think that India needs to solve a lot of their societal and cultural problems long before they should be allowed to have access to nuclear power. With their rocky relationship with Pakistan, that last thing we need is for them to have access to nuclear material to make into a weapon.
