Does Israel deserve respect as a peaceful country?

  • Middle-East Muslims hate Jews

It sucks that Israel is surrounded by countries who want to take their land and then kill them. Despite what some people would say, Israel is entirely justified in responding to attacks on their soil. Rockets are fired at them every day and because 'Palestinians' like to put their rockets in residential areas, a direct violation of international law, Israel has to choose between potentially killing 'Palestinians' or letting rockets be fired at their country.

  • Israel wants to be, but it can't.

Israel is surrounded by countries that want nothing more than to kill Jews, steal their wealth, and rape their land. Israel wants to be peaceful, but Iran, Iraq, Syria, Egypt, Pakistan, Afghanistan, HAMAS, and multiple other countries and terrorist organizations won't let them. How do we know that all these countries and organizations want Israelis dead and their lands captured? Well let's see: 1948 Arab-Israeli War, Reprisal Operations of the 50's to the 60's, Suez Crisis, the Six-Day War, the War of Attribution, The Yom Kippur War, the 1982 Lebanese War, the Gaza War, intifadas, etc., etc., ect. Israel is peaceful, but it can't.

  • Somewhere in between is the answer.

The hard truth is this: Israel is continuing to build settlements in occupied territory and are continuing to push the Palestinians onto smaller and smaller chunks of land. However, anytime anybody tries to point this out, they're labeled and "anti-Semite." While some Palestinian actions haven't helped their cause, this is has been a one-sided debate for decade that has been dominated by the Israelis.

  • No, Israel Shouldn't be There in the first place

The Jews took that land falsely and shouldn't be their. They displaced thousands of Muslim families and pushed them out of their own lands. Then they wonder why half the middle east hates them. They kill innocents, took the land by force, displaced innocent people and still want to be recognized as a civil peaceful state.

  • No, it's at war.

A country which is at war cannot be respected as a peaceful country. The United kingdom, the united states and many other countries cannot be viewed as peaceful /as they are at war. They claim to be looking for peace, but while you are at war you cannot be viewed as peaceful. Much like if you are lying in bed trying to get to sleep you cannot be viewed as sleeping, merely seeking sleep.

  • Seriously? Peaceful schmeaseful...

Israel must earn our respect, but its behaviour towards Palestine has not commanded any. For a start, it's creation was a massive gaff that split the century in two for the Middle East, and its militaristic, neo-Zionism is another threat. I can't say I have a better solution, but it's certainly not a peaceful state as we speak.

Although some of their attacks on the Palestinians was justified, as they fired rockets at them.
