Does the alienation of the elderly from family structures erode social values?

  • The elderly are the wisest ones among us.

I believe that the alienation of the elderly from our family
structures definitely erodes our social values.
When we are living in our parent’s house, we are careful what we do
because we don’t want to upset them.
Elderly people are far more conservative than young people and they have
better judgment because of their years of experience.

  • Treatment of the elderly

Yes, for sure. Look at countries that honor and treat their elderly with respect. They are much happier societies. I can't think of anything more depressing then knowing that when a person reaches a certain age, they have nothing to contribute to the family structure except to be a burden.
