    That is why we always see one side of it. One side of it always facing Earth while it rotates arount the Earth is only possible if it rotated around an axis..
    In the picture of this opinion, we would see the side of the moon marked with red dot if it didn't rotate around an axis, probably, passing through point green. Since that is not the case, then the moon rotates about 180° about an axis passing through point green..
