Does the PATRIOT Act Provide the Government with Excessive Power to Conduct Searches, Surveillances and Wiretaps of US Citizens?

  • The PATRIOT Act violates all of our rights

The PATRIOT Act takes away our rights and gives the government enormous powers over us. This simply cannot be disputed because this is the whole purpose of the PATRIOT Act. Why it still hasn't been repealed is obvious, the government wants the power to control you and to stop any threat to its power.

  • The PATRIOT Act provides the government with excessive power to conduct searches, surveillances and wiretaps of US citizens

I believe that the PATRIOT Act provides the government with excessive power to conduct searches, surveillances and wiretaps of US citizens. This is because the original intention of our nation was to keep the government from becoming centralized, and in such a position of power that the right to things including these types of privacy were not infringed upon.
