  • Nuclear power should be used

The world will eventually run out of fossil fuels and what will we have then, NOTHING, there are so many people in this world and the demand for electricity is growing each day. Even though there have been severe accidents in the past lets not frown at the past but learn from our mistakes and help the world become a more sustainable and safe place to live in.

  • The world is really in need of nuclear energy.

Today, the world is in so much in need of electricity that using only the conventional sources of energy can't be enough. The demand cannot be fulfilled. Also the waste produced is very very less when compared to using coal. The amount of energy it produces is higher and production rate is fast.
The only con is impacts of accidents

  • It is inevitable

Solar and wind can never support the worlds electrical requirements alone. Every solar or wind farm requires a gas plant backup which quickly becomes the primary source of power. 4th generation reactors are the only viable way to create enough energy so we don't have to live like cavemen. 200 years from now this question will be looked at like a joke.

  • No for nuclear energy!

It destroys the world and it is very dangerous. They don't have to use nuclear energy, they could use other like: Water energy, wind power, sun power and etc. But they could use sometime else but harmless to people. No for nuclear power. They can defend you country and attack other people but it's not good to the world.

  • For now, but later, no.

We are at the time where we need it now. It is sort of like a bridge. Although it is good now, we might find a better solution to it. So yah. I think it is good now but later maybe not. Wind and solar energy could be better in like, 50 years. But until then, we need nuclear energy.

  • The world needs nuclear energy.

Although nuclear energy is not perfect, it is the best resource we have in the world today. Fossil fuels will eventually run out, and alternative energy sources are not adequate to fulfill our energy needs. Scientists should work to ensure that nuclear power plants can be safer in the future.

  • Ain't perfect, but has its benefits.

May not be perfect, but compared to coal or natural gas, it is amazing. Waste can be used in the future, and honestly comparing a few people killed by nuclear energy to tens of thousands killed by coal, it is endlessly safer. Lives of the few for the good of the many. That one death from radiation is a tragedy, when the masses of deaths from coal and oil are ignored. The single death is a tragedy, while a million is a statistic. Cancer can be cured, as well as other mutations, once we have enough practice curing it. And guess what? Where are we going to GET all the practice when all we have is some minor research from smoking and U.V. Rays? Nuclear can eventually help cure cancer, and that's not all it will allow us to do. It will help us get into space too, and is really one of if not the best ways to reach another system like Proxima Centauri, either from a nuclear engine or something like the Orion Project. Beyond that, so far we have only really generated energy with fission. Once we're able to do the same with fusion? A large amount of the dangers away, with the only real new negatives being a slight loss in efficiency.

  • Ain't perfect, but has benefits.

Nuclear energy may not be perfect, but compared to our other options it has more side-benefits and has more room for improvements than other fairly renewable sources such as solar (Which in many areas does not work well, loses a massive amount of efficiency at night, and is pretty expensive and space inefficient) or wind (Which in many areas does not work well or at all, and is expensive and inefficient). Nuclear works 24/7, works ANYWHERE, and the waste it produces may eventually be used in later reactors that we do not have yet. Also, it can help us get into space more easily, and is our best hope for getting to another solar system, either by a flat out nuclear engine, or something like the Orion Project to nuke our way to Proxima Centauri. We don't want to cover a huge portion of the world with solar panels and wind turbines to make a Renewistan to power ourselves, even if nuclear still produces some CO2 and has a slight chance of melt

  • I do believe that nuclear energy would be helpful.

There are many countries that need the energy that they don't have. Trying to use fossil fuels and trying to set up acres and acres of land for wind turbines or solar panel plants will be too expensive. Nuclear energy is very efficient and has a low risk factor. It also leaves a very small footprint. It's waste consists of the tiniest of fractions of the pollution fossil fuels create. They're also more reliable than the unpredictable weather. It's just a helpful solution to an ongoing problem, and I'm sure that in the years to come, newer technology will find a way to replace these nuclear power plants. Until then, though, I think it's a good alternative for an energy source.

  • The world should use nuclear energy

The biggest benefit of nuclear energy is the large amount of energy it produces. In one year, a nuclear power plant produces enough energy to supply 1.1 million homes. By comparison, Seoul (the capital city of Korea) has about 4.1 million homes. Seoul is one of the biggest cities in the world, yet would only require four nuclear plants to supply its electricity needs. Nuclear power plants also provide a constant source of energy, running twenty-four hours a day, seven days a week without disruptions.

  • Boom! Big explosion...

What would happen if it leaked or has a problem? This:beep beep beep beep........Shh k-boom!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Chaos will pour its deadly liquid all over mutated corpses of animals and people! Miles of destruction. And if every country has a nuclear power plant, what would happen? Everything i just said except all over the world

  • Bad not good

It can destroy the land from the nuclear waste. It is radioactive. Even thought it can create a lot of energy out of nothing it can cause damage do you really e=want the world to be destroyed do you i want to keep the wold clean and safe and we should care.

  • I disagree with nuclear power

Because Nuclear power will affect the wildlife and the way we live. Causing cancer and natural disasters. Not to mention taking years to use again taking the risk of exposing one to radiation. Taking the life of an innocent person all to use nuclear energy when we have enough power for right now

  • We do not need nuclear energy to strive in the electricity/power business.

Nuclear power will affect the wildlife and the way we live. Causing cancer and natural disasters. Not to mention taking years to use again taking the risk of exposing one to radiation. Taking the life of an innocent person all to use nuclear energy when we have enough power for right now.

  • no, there are other ways

first of all deriving energy from nuclear sources is expensive and dangerous, steam power plants, hydro electric dams, coal power plants, solar power plants and wind turbines are good source, and are more safer than nuclear energy, i would prefer fusion energy which i believe will be available in this or the coming century, yes nuclear energy is great but the average unit cost is far higher than other sources, the cheapest is hydro and coal, although from all of these nuclear energy is more abundant and efficient than others but the risks are far to great, japan and chenobyl are a good example. Energy in the end is generated through heat or either steam, if they devise a more safer way to do it, nuclear would be my choice but now with the current risks i disagree
