  • Time away from apps means more time for one's studies

Regardless of the form social media takes, it can become an all-consuming part of a young person's life. Especially today's high schoolers who haven't known a world without it! Setting the phone down to get away from apps like Snapchat gives students more time to study, and aids in developing the skill to focus on oneself rather than what's going on with friends.

  • Yes, students should focus on schoolwork

Yes, students should focus on schoolwork. Most apps like Snapchat distract students from their primary purpose. Students need to be solely focused while they are learning. Today's technology and apps like Snapchat are taking too much of their attention. I think it's a shame that society is growing so dependent on these types of things.

  • Yes, kids need away from these apps.

I think time away from social media apps would benefit students greatly. This would give them more time to focus on homework instead of worrying about the content of social media. The things kids say and do on social media can be a major distraction in a student's life. I believe they cause more harm than good.

  • Leaving Apps behind helps kids to Focus

Let's face it, this is a daily struggle for all of us. I literally wake up first thing in the morning and grab my ipad before I even put one leg out of the bed. I have to check my emails, Facebook posts etc, so I know it has got to be very difficult for the kids. The trick is to maintain focus and discipline. Time away from Snapchat would definitely put things in perspective for kids and give them a break from social networking. There are still other things in life you know. They can rediscover engaging in a conversation with family and friends, playing outside and getting fresh air. Sometimes it is good for them to unplug in order to be even more plugged in to what is happening around them.
