A spy should never ever make confidential information public or allow it to be made public by any other than the government which employs him. If spies are allowed to get away with this type of behavior, then the whole system of intelligence gathering will break down, thus endangering world peace.
All of this nonsense could have been avoided if the US would have demanded Trump to disclose his tax returns before he was even nominated. He had to be borrowing money from somewhere. The US banks wouldn't. Follow the money (my guess) back to Russia and you'll have plenty of conflict of interest, which will the least of his offenses.
No, there shouldn't be repercussions against Steele. He was hired to work as a spy. That's exactly what he did. He worked with the intelligence community to gather information. What he found was that our upcoming president put himself into compromising situations that could potentially hurt our nation. He should not be persecuted for this; he should be thanked!
No, Ex-MI6 officer Christopher Steele should not face repercussions for putting a dossier together regarding Donald Trump's activities in Russia and the involvement that Russia had in grooming Donald Trump as a Russian plant. The American people need to know about the perverse activities of the president elect and how he will work against their country's best interests.
Since when is gathering evidence of criminal activity a crime? The man should be rewarded for what he has done! He found valuable information related to the hacked election and blackmailing against our soon-to-be POTUS by the Russian government. This is something that should be taken very seriously, and we should be thanking this man for bringing the evidence to light.
