Many Americans have become numb to stories of gun violence and mass shootings. The news often has stories about a different mass shooting nearly every week. Unfortunately, these frequent shootings have made many Americans tune out; treating violence like a part of every day life. This has caused many to come to the conclusion that violence in America is just the way things are going to be from now on.

  • Yes, Americans have grown numb to gun violence.

The sad truth is that Americans have grown numb to gun violence because it is a common occurrence. Multiple attacks have plagued the world recently and unless it happens in someone's backyard or affects someone close to them, it seems like something that is just a part of life, unfortunately.

  • We are numb to all violence.

I don't think that Americans have grown numb to just gun violence. Instead, we have grown numb and calloused to all types of violence. Whether it is children dying during war or someone getting stabbed, violence is just regular news today. We need to teach our children to be better to break the cycle.
